I have been told by more than one person that drinking sodas or carbonated beverages reduces your stamina when running or exercising. I’ve been told that something about the carbonation prevents your blood from transporting oxygen well. I’ve never been able to find any reliable reference to confirm or refute this. Can anyone cite a research article or website that can shed light on this?

Thursday, November 12th, 2009Why is oxygenation good and prevents cancer but oxidation bad and causes cancer (we have to use antioxidants)?

From what I read, cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

How is this oxygenation different from oxidation, which I also remember reading is bad for us and causes us to get more and more cancer cells leading to cancer?
